Abbe M. Breiter, MS, RD, LD/N

Abbe began her career as an aerobics instructor in high school, which led to an interest in exercise physiology. Upon completing her undergraduate degree, she found employment in a corporate wellness center - where she noticed that everyone seemed to have a nutrition question and where she gave many lectures on good nutrition and exercise.

Seeing a career direction taking shape, she returned to school and earned a master's degree in dietetics and nutrition. Her second career as a clinical dietitian in a hospital proved frustrating when she learned that her efforts to educate patients while in the hospital were futile.

When the opportunity to work with bariatric patients presented itself, Ms. Breiter took it. Something told her that this might be a receptive group of patients, willing to be learn and make positive changes as a result.

Her instincts proved correct.  She continues to utilize her skills as an educator, not only at one of the largest bariatric practices in the country, but also as an instructor for both USBMI and the Ethicon Endo-Surgery Institute, sharing her knowledge and experience with bariatric programs around the world.
